Pick yourself back up

As much as I like to talk about habit change and self-improvement on this blog, trying to cultivate a new habit of any kind is hard. Really hard.

We’re all human, which means we are bound to fail at some point.

But it isn’t all bad news though.

Because the thing that separates successful people from non-successful people isn’t that they don’t fail at all. It’s that when they do fail, they pick themselves right back up and continue on with their journey.

Just because you missed a blog post (or two) doesn’t mean you’ve failed entirely. Pick yourself back up and write one for today. It might be slightly more difficult to get the momentum going again, but we must learn to do so.

Life isn't always smooth sailing. Things come up. We must prepare for the less than perfect days just as much as the best case scenarios.

This mindset is what separates those of us who achieve our goals, and those of us who give up at the first sign of failure.

It’s a sprint, not a marathon.
