Writer’s block isn’t real

And if you also sometimes stare blankly at the empty word document, unsure of what to write next, I have a solution for you:
To get over writer's block, all we need to do is write.
The problem isn’t that we can’t get ANY words onto the page, it’s that we can’t get any GOOD words onto the page (whatever ‘good’ means).
If your job is to write 500 words for today, then just write anything that comes to mind until you hit the 500 word limit - who said anything about how ’good’ those 500 words need to be?
Once you hit the goal, then, and only then, are you allowed to edit those words to create something ‘good’.
Write first. Edit later. The writer and editor can’t co-exist at the same time.
Besides - you wouldn’t hire an editor and have them stand behind you as you write, scrutinising every word that you type, would you? That doesn't sound very productive (or healthy).
