Materialism

We are too materialistic in the every day sense of the word, and not materialistic enough in the true sense of the word.

To be a true materialist means to care about the quality of a product; the types of materials it’s made of and how it was manufactured.

The problem with most things today is their incessant lack of quality.

Technology has enabled us to manufacture products as cheaply as it has ever been in human history. But as costs drop, so too does the quality.

There’s so much junk being sold in stores today that it sometimes distracts us from buying the products we actually want and care about.

We forget to stop and truly appreciate the quality of the products we buy.

We're no doubt in love with buying things, fantasising what our lives would be like if we just had it in our hands.

But we’re not truly in love with the things themselves are we? Just the idea of having them.

So instead of buying everything we desire, the more sustainable option would be to determine what things we need in our lives, and what we don’t.

By cutting out the things we don’t need, we can spend more time and money on the things we genuinely want.

And that's the point in which we can start appreciating the value of quality in our lives again.
