I'm hungry

Being hungry is a natural experience. We can all relate to it on a casual level, like when we make jokes about the state of being ‘hangry’. But being hungry affects us more than we'd like to think.
When we’re hungry, it becomes extremely hard to control our emotions.
We need to eat food so that our brain has enough energy to do basic tasks. One of the tasks of the brain is to regulate emotions, which is why we tend to become more angry and irritable when we’re hungry. Anger is the emotion that people have the most difficulty regulating, so naturally hungry people are usually easily angered too.
It’s easy to say to tell someone who’s hungry to “just cheer up”, but as we all know, instead of making them feel better, it will probably anger them even more. Even those of us who can control our emotions well may find it hard to do so when we’re hungry.
Of course the feeling varies depending on how hungry you are, your blood glucose level, and the activity level you are experiencing.
This state of hunger is also when we make our worst decisions. Try grocery shopping while hungry, I’m guessing you’d leave the store with a lot more food than you planned to.
For the sake of everyone's sanity, please do not let yourself become hungry.
