Be mindful

Sometimes in my life, I find myself being more distracted than usual.

Watching TV while eating. Doing work while watching YouTube in the background. And even cooking a meal while calling a friend.

It’s hard enough to sit down and get something productive done.

But once we make it a habit to constantly distract ourselves, it gets significantly harder to be focused.

When I’m calling a friend while I cook, both parties suffer. My friend feels like I’m not paying attention to him because I’m busy cooking, and my food will taste subpar because I’m trying to talk to my friend.

It’s a lose-lose situation.

When we take the time to focus on a single task at a time, we allow ourselves to put all our energy and effort into them.

Listen to your friend talk.

Cook your food well.

Being distracted or focused is a choice. Being focused is just the harder choice.
